Hong Kong Shue Yan University has unveiled six newly constructed classrooms on the C Floor of its Library Complex, with an inauguration ceremony attended by senior management, department heads, and representatives from the architectural and construction teams.
The project, launched in late 2025, transformed the former Conference Hall into six modern classrooms with a combined capacity of nearly 300 students. At the ceremony, Professor Sun Tien-lun, Senior Vice President, expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts between the University and the project teams, which ensured the successful and timely delivery of the facilities. She noted her expectation that the new learning spaces would enhance the teaching and learning environment for both staff and students.
Mr. Elbert Lee, Executive Director of Wong Tung & Partners, who led the architectural design, and Mr. Eric Yiu, Managing Director of EDCO, who managed the renovation works, both reflected on the demanding nature of the project. As this was their first institutional design collaboration, completing the transformation within just a few months posed significant challenges. They credited the project’s timely delivery to the seamless coordination and strong working relationship with the University, along with the teams’ commitment to maintaining progress through weekends and holidays.
