Hong Kong Shue Yan University ranks 366th in the newly announced QS Asia University Rankings 2027, continuing to remain in the top 25 percentile and ranking first among private universities in Hong Kong.
Dr Gigi LAM, Acting Associate Academic Vice-President (University Research), stated that HKSYU’s top-quarter percentile ranking for two consecutive years reflects the University’s sustained and robust competitiveness. In the coming year, efforts will be directed toward two key areas to further elevate the University’s impact.
First, regarding staff development, HKSYU is dedicated to fostering a stronger research culture. Through hosting workshops and experience-sharing sessions, successful applicants of the Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local Self-financing Degree Sector will be invited to share their application strategies, practical experiences, and valuable insights, thereby facilitating academic exchange and enhancing overall research capacity. Simultaneously, HKSYU will actively seek expanded collaboration with academic publishers to promote open-access publishing for journals and papers, boosting the international visibility and academic influence of its research outcomes.
Furthermore, regarding student development, HKSYU will enhance student engagement through diverse activities—including student events, academic and professional competitions, corporate visits, and overseas study tours. These initiatives aim to broaden students’ international horizons and encourage them to explore development opportunities across various academic and professional domains. Dr LAM believes these measures will help pave the way for increased student exchanges and international collaboration projects, further strengthening students’ global competitiveness.
