BA Department Academic Week 2024: Professional Development in the Digital Business World

The Department of Business Administration (BA Department) at the Faculty of Commerce, HKSYU, proudly hosted its annual “Academ – ic Week (A-Week)” in October 2024. Academic Week 2024, themed “Professional Development in the Digital Business World,” was a highly successful event held from October 14 to 17. The event featured an impressive lineup of guest speakers who shared their expertise and insights with the students.

The week began with a discussion on the transformative impact of digitalization in the banking sector. Representatives from the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) and the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (HKIHRM) provided insights on building careers with professional bodies. The seminar then moved on to topics such as self-awareness, career planning, and individual preparation for a career in marketing. Ethical leadership in technology environments was also a key focus. Discussions included the application and implications of algorithms in business, as well as strategies for start-ups. The event concluded with an engaging seminar on digital storytelling and advanced video editing.
