Bibi Mamoona MOHAMMAD Receiving the HSBC Scholarship 2025/26 is a moment of great pride and gratitude for me. From a young age, I have always been drawn to the power of language, such as how words can inspire, teach, and connect people across cultures. This passion led me to pursue English studies, and it fuels my dream of becoming an English teacher after graduation. I believe that education is one of the most meaningful gifts we can give, and I want to dedicate my life to shaping young minds and helping students discover their own voices. I am deeply grateful to HSBC for believing in my potential and investing in my future. With this support, I can dedicate more time to my academics, participate in teaching-related activities, and prepare myself to become a compassionate, skilled educator. I am deeply grateful to HSBC for believing in my potential. I promise to honour this opportunity by working hard, giving back to my community, and one day inspiring my future students.

Xie Yuheng  It is a distinct honour to be named a recipient of the 2026 HSBC Scholarship. The recent awards ceremony was a profound experience, offering more than just recognition—it provided a panoramic view of scholarly excellence across Hong Kong. Meeting outstanding peers from diverse disciplines, I was struck by a shared ethos: a commitment to purposeful advancement rather than mere academic achievement. What resonated most was our collective understanding of networking. We concur that proactive engagement transcends utilitarian “connection-building”; it is about cultivating a repository of diverse perspectives essential for addressing complex societal challenges. This realization is invaluable. I am deeply grateful to HSBC and HKSYU for this support, which strengthens my resolve to specialize in school counselling and contribute meaningfully to our community.

Yao Cai-er  It is a great honour for me to be awarded the HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship. As each applicant has their own outstanding academic background and expertise, and all of us have undergone a strict interview process, I truly feel grateful to be selected as one of the recipients from among so many talented students. In my view, this scholarship is not only a financial support but also a recognition of my abilities. During the Scholars Day, several young HSBC Scholars were invited to share their own life stories. When they were asked what advice they would give to the recipients, they emphasised that there would always be times when we feel lost in life, but the most important thing is to have the courage to step out of our comfort zones. As a fresh graduate who is currently feeling anxious about my own future career path, I particularly found this advice very relatable.

Wong Hoi-lam  I am both honoured and grateful to have been awarded the HSBC Social Work Scholarship. Receiving this award is a tremendous honour and source of encouragement. It is not only a recognition of my personal abilities, but also an encouragement that makes me believe my hard work will be recognised, helps me realise that I am stronger than I imagined, and gives me greater motivation to strive towards my goals. I have always strived to become a social worker and have been passionate about voluntary work, believing that helping others is a way of helping oneself. This recognition is not only an acknowledgement of my past efforts but also serves as a driving force for me to continue helping others in the future. Moving forward, I will continue to hone my professional skills and passion as a social worker, constantly pushing my boundaries, passing on this encouragement, and giving back to society.

Hui Lok I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Social Work at HKSYU for their dedicated guidance and unwavering support throughout my academic journey. The professional social work knowledge and practical skills I have acquired at HKSYU have empowered me to meaningfully serve others and pursue my passion for making a positive impact in society. This scholarship is not only a recognition of my efforts, but also a great motivation for me to strive for excellence in my future career in the social work sector.
