Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cyberport. The collaboration will focus on artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and emerging technologies to encourage tertiary students to participate in project-based initiatives, company visits, internships, and employment opportunities, thereby strengthening innovation and technology talent development.

Professor SUN Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, and Mr Simon CHAN, Chairman of Cyberport, together with Professor Catherine SUN Tien-lun, Senior Vice President of HKSYU, witnessed the signing of the document by Dr Jason CHOW Tak-sang, Vice President (University Administration) of HKSYU, and Dr Rocky CHENG, Chief Executive Officer of Cyberport.

Cyberport stated that this strategic partnership underscore the value of “Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum 2026” as a key platform for advancing academia-industry-research collaboration, while highlighting Cyberport’s pivotal role in connecting cross-sector resources and reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a leading regional and international innovation and technology hub.

The forum is held at Cyberport for three consecutive days (August 28 to 30), featuring four themed experience zones: “Digital Entertainment,” “Culture and Arts,” “Smart Living and Business,” and “Robotics and Drones,” with over 35 innovative technology showcases, interactive experiences and programmes.

As a supporting organisation, HKSYU is also displaying graduate works from the Department of Journalism and Communication’s “Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Media Design and Immersive Technology” programme under the theme “Design Beyond Reality.” Additionally, HKSYU’s Industrial Attachment Office, in collaboration with the Teaching and Learning Development Office, is presenting research outcomes using technologies such as augmented reality (AR) at their booth, giving visitors a deeper understanding of HKSYU’s latest developments in teaching and research.
