The Industrial Attachment Office (IAO) of Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) welcomed internship partners to the “HKSYU Internship Partners New Year Get-together” held at the Mrs. Dorothy Koo and Dr. Ti Hua Koo Plaza on February 20, 2025.

Dr Jason CHOW, Vice President (University Administration) of HKSYU, opened the event with a warm welcome to all guests, sharing his own internship experience from his student days and emphasizing its profound impact on his personal growth. He highlighted that this gathering was the University’s way of expressing gratitude to its internship employers and faculty members for their invaluable support.

The afternoon celebrated the strong relationships HKSYU has forged with internship partners from the Department of Counselling and Psychology and the Department of Social Work – primarily NGOs, social enterprises, and educational institutions.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to employers, recognizing their contributions to student development. Twelve students from the Department of Counselling and Psychology and the Department of Social Work received the Outstanding Internship Award, an accolade honouring those who demonstrated exceptional performance during their internships.

This event provided a relaxed platform for HKSYU academics and industry partners to connect and network while offering students from the two departments a valuable opportunity to engage with industry professionals. It underscored HKSYU’s dedication to fostering strategic industry partnerships and nurturing young talent.

Looking ahead, IAO aims to deepen ties with industry professionals, strengthening collaboration among the University, students, and industry partners while expanding internship opportunities.
