Professor Anthony CHAN Moung-yin, HKSYU’s Senior Advisor and Visiting Professor, has engaged in discussions with university management, accounting professionals, business representatives, alumni, teachers, and students to inform the university’s future development. These consultations focused on curriculum design, interdisciplinary collaboration, and talent development. Within two months in this summer, more than 30 individuals had been interviewed by him.
Professor CHAN noted that industry representatives and alumni value the educational experience at Shue Yan University; however, they also recognise the need for accounting education to extend beyond traditional subjects. New training areas could prepare graduates for the market’s evolving needs.
He is helping to launch a master of accounting program to create broader career pathways for students. The consultations have also shown strong support from staff, students, alumni, and industry partners for the university’s development.
As Hong Kong Shue Yan University celebrates its 55th anniversary, this initiative reflects its commitment to innovation, open collaboration, and future-oriented education, with the aim of nurturing talents who can adapt to society’s changing needs.
