The three-day “Learning & Teaching Expo” is being held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25 to 27 June 2026. As an institutional partner, Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) has collaborated with the Education Bureau to present its knowledge transfer project — “Experience Virtual Ving Tsun Learning System with Ving Tsun Master” — which showcases the intangible cultural heritage of Ip Man’s Ving Tsun.
Dr Li Wang-on, Associate Academic Vice President (University Research), visited the HKSYU booth and experienced the Virtual Ving Tsun Learning System. He learned how the university, together with Chinese martial arts masters and young people, is applying artificial intelligence and other technologies to promote Chinese culture.
Organised by Smart City Consortium, the Expo features over 600 exhibition booths from local, Chinese Mainland, and overseas exhibitors. More than 300 international experts and scholars exchanged insights on integrating AI into teaching and learning.
HKSYU also participated in the EDB InnoTheatre session, “Connecting Digital Humanities and Knowledge Transfer: Intangible Cultural Heritage: IP Man’s Ving Tsun”, on 26 June. Speakers included Dr Lee Ka-man, HKSYU Assistant Vice President; Master Ip Kong-chiu, Grandson of Ip Man; Master Lee Yuk-cheong, Chairman of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association; and Dr Pang Yiu-kwan, HKSYU alumnus and Principal of Caritas Chong Yuet Ming Secondary School.
