The Department of Counselling and Psychology at HKSYU hosted a seminar titled “Forensic Psychology: Research & Application” on campus on 13 August. Focusing on the criminal justice system, behavioural analysis, and psychoanalysis, the event featured several distinguished psychology scholars as guest speakers. Attendees included Dr Hu Fai-chung, HKSYU President; Professor Sun Tien-lun, Senior Vice President; Mr Yip Wan-lung, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations); as well as scholars from the Department of Counselling and Psychology.
 
In his speech, Mr Yip Wan-lung highlighted that the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Forensic and Investigative Psychology will make significant contributions to creating new knowledge, promoting innovative ideas, and enhancing digital literacy. He called for the collaborative methods amongst psychologists, social workers, and committed academics to ensure the criminal justice system remains fair and effective.
