Trevor Lee, an alumnus of the Department of Journalism and Communication at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU), graduated in 2013 and has since built a distinguished career in the television news industry. Over the past decade, he has served as a reporter, news anchor, and host of public affairs programmes. Inspired by the selfless dedication of the University’s late founders, Dr Henry Hu Hung-lick and Dr Chung Chi-yung, Trevor has continually reminded himself to strive to become a pillar of society and to contribute to the community to the best of his ability.

During his studies at HKSYU, Trevor was offered a part-time reporter position at a television station following his internship there. After graduation, he continued his career in broadcasting, covering a wide range of topics including local, cross-strait, and international issues. His work has taken him to different regions for on-the-scene reporting, before later serving as anchor and host for news programmes.

Reflecting on his four years at Shue Yan, Trevor acknowledged the profound influence of the University’s founders—particularly their perseverance and their mission of “taking from society, giving back to society.” Staying true to this philosophy, he remarked: “The University has given so much to educate and nurture young talent. When it is time for us to contribute to society, we must remind ourselves to do our utmost to be responsible pillars of the community.”
