On 10 March 2026, the Hong Kong Shue Yan University Alumni Association celebrated its 46th anniversary with a dinner that brought together university management, faculty, and alumni across generations.

In her speech, Professor Chan Ching, Academic Vice President, said that the University History Museum is expected to begin operations in the latter half of this year. Professor Hue Ming-tak, Vice President (Graduate School), introduced developments at the Graduate School, noting that HKSYU remains the only private university in Hong Kong to offer both MPhil and PhD programmes. He hopes the university will continue to lead in postgraduate education and invited alumni to offer professional advice. Dr Li Wang-on, Associate Academic Vice President (University Research), shared recent academic achievements, including HKSYU’s ranking as the top private university in Hong Kong in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026.

Department heads and representatives from Applied Data Science, Sociology, History, Counselling and Psychology, Social Work, English Language and Literature, and Economics and Finance also provided updates on their latest initiatives.

Mr Chan Siu-wa, President of the Alumni Association, expressed gratitude to alumni from all cohorts for their support and encouraged continued unity in carrying forward Shue Yan’s culture.

A highlight of the evening was the sharing of fond memories by alumni from different eras, including Dr Francis Cheung, Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors. The dinner also featured a quiz themed around HKSYU’s “digital humanities,” with alumni enthusiastically participating and receiving commemorative gifts.
