One of the best ways to understand the law, especially at a young age, is to observe it in action. The Moot Court at Hong Kong Shue Yan University serves as more than just a platform for teaching law and advocacy. It also offers the community a glimpse into how the law is practiced in court, inspiring young people who aspire to pursue a career in law.

On July 31, 2024, a group of over 30 young children visited Shue Yan and participated in a summer activity organized by the New Life Church, which included a visit to the Moot Court and our campus facilities. During their visit, the children attended a mini-law lecture by Mr Simon SO, a barrister at law and bar scholar, and observed a demonstration in the Moot Court. They also had the opportunity to explore other campus facilities, such as the Library where judges’ gowns were exhibited, the Forum Theatre, the Audio Mixing Suite, and the Control Panel Suite. The children showed promise in news presentations as they were fluent and composed in front of the teleprompter.

It was indeed a meaningful mission to support the New Life Church in inspiring children to have faith in their future. We are grateful to Pastor “Matches” YEUNG, Mr Simon SO, Mr Herman HO, and Mr Jack HUI for their dedicated kindness to the community.
