On 1 February 2026, the Department of Law and Business successfully held the Award Ceremony 2025 to recognise the outstanding academic achievements of students in law-related subjects for the academic year 2024-25.

The ceremony was attended by Dr HU Fai-chung, HKSYU President; Dr Jason CHOW Tak-sang, Vice President (University Administration); Mr Justice Thomas AU Hing-cheung, Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal and Member of the Board of Governors; and Mr Richard KHAW, S.C., Member of the Board of Governors.

In his opening remarks, the Head of Department, Professor LEUNG Hing-fung, expressed his gratitude to the guests of honour for their support of our Department and student awardees. He also acknowledged the generous contributions from donors, including Mr KHAW, S.C., for establishing the Chui Wen Mei Memorial Scholarship, which recognises the best-performing graduate.

This year, we were delighted to welcome back our graduate, Mr Jonathan LEE Chun-yat, who received multiple awards in law subjects, including the honours of best-performing graduate and Best Oralist. His contributions to the Department, along with his dedication and commitment throughout his four years of study at SYU, have been well recognised.

The ceremony also featured the student team who excelled in the HKCGI Corporate Governance Paper Writing Competition & Presentation Award 2025. We took this opportunity not only to celebrate their success but also to recognise their effort and contribution.
