Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) opened its doors to the public during the Olympic Games as part of the University’s community initiatives.
To kick off the initiative, nearly 100 guests, including alumni, academics, students, community members, Legislative Council member, members from the sports and cultural sectors, and media executives, gathered at Mrs Dorothy Koo and Dr Ti Hua Koo Plaza at the University’s Braemar Hill campus on August 7, 2024. They enjoyed a live broadcast of the Paris Olympics table tennis event, featuring athletes from the national team.
The “Watch the Olympics at Shue Yan” event was attended by key members of the University’s management team, including Dr Francis CHEUNG, Vice Chairman of HKSYU Board of Governors, Professor Catherine SUN Tien-lun, HKSYU Senior Vice President, Professor CHEUNG Siu-keung, HKSYU Vice President (University Administration), and members from the Faculties of Arts, Commerce, and Social Sciences.
During her address, Professor SUN welcomed the community to HKSYU during the Olympic Games, extending an invitation to cheer for the national athletes. She also encouraged attendees to share their suggestions for the continued development of the University. HKSYU was opened to the public during the Olympic Games as part of the University’s community initiatives.
