The Smart Investment Day was successfully held on October 30, 2024 by the Office of Student Affairs. It was a significant event that provided students with a wealth of knowledge on financial literacy. The day was packed with seminars and interactive activities to prepare students for their future financial responsibilities. The “Embarking on My MPF Journey” workshop, hosted by Miss Elaine CHAN, Assistant Manager (External Affairs) of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA), was particularly noteworthy. It offered students a comprehensive understanding of the MPF System, which is essential for their financial security when they embark on various employment opportunities in the future.
In addition, the MPFA’s on-campus roving activities added an element of fun to the learning process with psychological tests and games. The activities not only engaged students but also imparted valuable lessons on financial planning. According to the recent policy from the HKSAR Government, allowing full-time non-local undergraduate students to work part-time, it further underscores the importance of such educational events.
Besides, the Money Service Seminar, presented by Ms Betsy WONG, the Customs Inspector of Customs and Excise Department addressed the critical issue of unlicensed money services and their legal implications.
