To celebrate the opening of the 15th National Games, Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) proudly hosted “Enjoy the National Games,” an energetic gathering that fused sports, tradition and innovation on campus.

From martial arts legends to smart sports technology, the event brought together students, alumni, educators and media leaders in a shared celebration of resilience, cultural pride and community strength.

Dr Chow Tak-sang, Vice President (University Administration), expressed the honour of HKSYU’s participation as group volunteers in the Men’s U22 Basketball Competition. This opportunity allows the Shue Yan spirit to shine through meaningful service and national contribution.

Martial arts figures including Cheng Ka-ho MH JP, Master Jerry Yeung and Master Ip Kong-chiu (grandson of Ip Man) shared their personal stories about discipline, perseverance and legacy. Their reflections reminded us that sports are not only about competition but also about character.

Guests explored interactive showcases like Smart Boxing and discussions on how Digital Humanities can enhance university sports. The event demonstrated how innovation can support holistic development in education and athletics.

“Enjoy the National Games” was more than a celebration. It was a meaningful spark of connection across generations, sectors and disciplines—uniting our community through the power of sports.
