Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) is pleased to announce the establishment of its Communications and Public Affairs Office (CPAO), a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the University’s collaboration and interaction with stakeholders. The CPAO commenced operations on 1st August 2024, under the leadership of HKSYU Assistant Vice President Dr. Kaman LEE, who has been appointed Director of the CPAO.

The CPAO has articulated four primary strategic objectives: to amplify HKSYU’s impact by promoting the University’s excellence in teaching and research, to bolster Strategic media outreach by supporting academic departments, to cultivate HKSYU’s media platforms, and to develop and deepen the University’s network of collaborative partners. These initiatives align with the University’s commitment to advancing a digitally enabled liberal arts education as outlined in HKSYU strategic vision for 2026–2030, and are intended to further elevate the University’s global competence.

The office is staffed by a team with extensive experience in media and corporate communications. Notably, two alumni from the Department of Journalism and Communication, seasoned media professional Mr Vincent HO Yung-sang and Managing Editor of Shue Yan Newsletter Ms YAN Ka-yee, have taken on the roles of Senior Manager and Manager respectively. The team will leverage professional corporate communication strategies, including multimedia content creation and coordination of official events, to foster stronger relationships between HKSYU and its partners. These partners include various industries, communities, professional organizations, alumni, and media outlets.
