The Department of Applied Data Science (ADS) hosted a seminar in collaboration with Hong Kong Game Development Association (HKGD). The seminar featured Mr Michael SZE, Head of Secretariat of HKGD and Director of CSoft Game Company, as the guest speaker.

It focused on game design and development in Hong Kong, examining current market trends of indie games both locally and globally. Mr SZE provided an in-depth analysis of the evolving landscape of the game industry in Hong Kong, highlighting unique opportunities and the various challenges that developers face. He and some game developers also shared several successful case studies from local and international, offering practical examples and inspiration to aspiring creators in the audience.

ADS faculty members also introduced the Master of Science in Game Development and Management (GDM), outlining the program’s curriculum, admission requirements, and career prospects.

After the seminar, participants toured the university’s campus facilities, including laboratories, workspaces, and classrooms that support game development and related disciplines. They also joined a networking session with faculty members, students, and industry professionals.
