The Personal Finance Ambassador Programme 2025/26, sponsored by the HKEX Foundation and co-organised by the Investor and Financial Education Council together with St. James’ Settlement, held its Presentation and Award Ceremony on 17 January 2026. The student team from the Department of Economics and Finance at Hong Kong Shue Yan University was recognised with the Bronze Award for their outstanding financial education initiative.

The programme aims to strengthen tertiary students’ financial planning skills and raise awareness of personal financial management. Five students formed a team called “Career Goal Hunter” and developed and implemented their financial education project under the theme “Financial Goal Achiever”. They organised a series of games and workshops on campus in November and early December 2025, promoting messages pertaining to the theme among their schoolmates.

Thanks to their strong performance in the semi‑finals, the HKSYU team advanced to the Top 6 and entered the finals. Competing against five other strong teams, including The Education University of Hong Kong, they remained focused throughout the intense preparation period. Their efforts culminated in recognition at the award ceremony.

Dr Vivian Wang Xiaowei, the team’s advisor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting, shared that during the implementation phase the team designed eight engaging activities centred on financial education. Three of these—the Financial Makeover Workshop, Financial Animal Metaphor Session, and 21‑Day Financial Starter Camp—were executed successfully, attracting active participation and positive feedback. “Our creative approach and the depth and accuracy of financial knowledge shared throughout the activities were highly commended by the judges,” she noted.

Dr Wang added that the journey was a true testament to the power of teamwork, creativity, and professional dedication. We extend our sincere gratitude to every team member for their hard work.
