On 6 September 2025, the student team from the Department of Law and Business—comprising Dhillon Fatehkaran Singh, LIN Ruoqi, and WONG Nga-yin—earned notable recognition by securing second runner-up in paper writing and first runner-up in paper presentation at the Corporate Governance Paper Competition and Presentation Awards 2025, organised by the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI).

Earlier in June 2025, HKCGI received 45 research papers from 139 undergraduates across 9 universities. The HKSYU team devoted extensive effort to their paper titled “Is Corporate Governance a Driver for Corporate Growth: A Typology,” which led to their selection as one of six finalists in the competition. They were the only team from a self-financing university.

To prepare for the final presentation, they held numerous practice sessions and mock presentations, refining their skills. This process provided them with valuable experience in academic writing and presentation delivery.
