Dr Philip LEE, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance and Associate Director of the Teaching and Learning Development Office at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU), participated as a panellist in the event, organized by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CIIHK), on 24th September, 2024. The panel discussion focused on “Ways to Mitigate the Challenges of a Multi-Generational Workforce”.
During the discussion, Dr LEE shared his experiences of teaching the course Fundamentals of FinTech Computing, which enrolled both elderly individuals and undergraduate students. He emphasized that this arrangement, coordinated by the Elderly Academy, offers a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange and learning between the two generations in a classroom setting. Aligning with the views of other panellists, Dr LEE underscored the importance of communication and mutual respect as essential elements for success in a multi-generational workforce.
Additionally, Dr LEE spoke about his early work experiences and recent administrative roles at HKSYU. He praised the university for promoting a liberal and diverse environment that fosters collaboration among colleagues from different generations.
