The 49th graduation ceremony of Hong Kong Shue Yan University took place on November 23, 24, and 27, 2023, at Lady Lily Shaw Hall on the university campus.
A total of 1,100 doctoral degrees, master’s degrees in philosophy, doctoral degrees in philosophy, taught master’s degrees, and bachelor’s degrees were conferred upon graduates. Among the graduates, 406 were from the Faculty of Social Sciences, 407 from the Faculty of Arts, and 291 from the Faculty of Commerce.
The three-day graduation ceremony featured a total of five sessions. The presiding officers were Chairman of Board of Governors Mr Kenneth TING, Chairman of University Council Professor Danny WONG, and HKSYU Provost Professor HU Yao-su. The Presenting Officers who introduced the proceedings included members of HKSYU senior management: HKSYU Senior Vice President Professor Catherine SUN, Academic Vice President Professor Selina CHAN and Vice President (University Administration) Professor CHEUNG Siu-keung.
During the ceremony, the Presenting Officers read the graduation speeches, and the presiding officers conferred degrees to accomplished graduates. The university also presented the Academic Programme Achievement Awards for the most outstanding student in each of the bachelor’s degree programme.
